The present stative is formed by directly adding to the nominal or adjectival phrase
the pronominal type of personal suffixes.
With the adjective kasal, '(to be) sick':
The negative is formed by adding to the nominal or adjectival phrase the negative copula emas, plus the personal suffix.
|kasalman||I am sick|
|kasalsan||You are sick|
|kasal||He/she is sick|
|kasalmiz||We are sick|
|kasalingiz||You are sick|
|kasallar / kasal||They are sick|
In spoken Uzbek, for the negative, an abbreviated form is used, where the first vowel e- of emas is dropped.
|kasal emasman||I am not sick|
|kasal emassan||You are not sick|
|kasal emas||He/she is not sick|
|kasal emasmiz||We are not sick|
|kasal emassiz||You are not sick|
|kasal emaslar / emas||They are not sick|
|kasalmasman||I ain't sick|
|kasalmassan||You aren't sick|
|kasalmas||He/she isn't sick|
|kasalmasmiz||We aren't sick|
|kasalmassiz||You aren't sick|
|kasalmaslar / kasalmas||They aren't sick|
